Are We a Good Fit?

Welcome to Westside

Finding the right pediatrician is all about fit.

We are dedicated to providing a welcoming and supportive environment with personalized care.

We focus on treating your family like our own. You are not alone in parenting - we are here every step of the way.

It is important to consider if our practice’s philosophies and approach to care align with your family’s values and priorities.

This alignment is essential for building a long term partnership and fostering excellent care as well as respectful, collaborative decision-making between you and your child’s pediatrician. We encourage you to review the information below to determine if we are the right fit for your family.

  • Vaccines

Our vaccine schedule follows the schedule outlined by the American Academy of Pediatrics

Our physicians do not recommend alternative schedules. If you have questions regarding your child's vaccinations, please call our office for more information or schedule an appointment with your child's doctor.

  • Antibiotics

We work hard to not overuse antibiotics. Antibiotics are prescribed when deemed necessary and appropriate after a thorough evaluation, prioritizing the well-being of our patients while avoiding the risks of antibiotic resistance and unnecessary side effects.

We do not routinely prescribe antibiotics over the phone. We provide our best quality care when your child can be thouroughly examined during a visit.

  • Medical Home

Westside Pediatric Group is recognized as a Patient Centered Medical Home. To allow us to provide comprehensive medical care,  please contact our office before seeking specialty care or heading to another provider for urgent care during business hours. We want to be involved in either providing care in our office when appropriate or referring you to the most appropriate specialist.

When you do see a specialist, we ask that you request a report be sent directly to our office so we may stay informed and have the most up-to-date information in your child’s medical record.

  • After Hours

Our dedicated pediatric team is available 24/7. If it is after office hours, we are available for urgent concerns only.

We encourage you to visit our child health resources for helpful information before calling our after-hours clinician.

For non-urgent matters such as mild illness, scheduling appointments, or refilling medications, please call during regular office hours. Please refer to our website for common dosing information for over the counter medications. Routine refills of medications and referrals will not be handled after hours.

IN THE EVENT OF A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY, CALL 911.

  • Insurance

Please ensure we participate with your insurance plan. It is your responsibility to understand the limits and coverage of your health insurance policy. Please present your insurance cards at each visit and be prepared to pay any copays at the time of service.

While our billing staff can assist with insurance inquiries, it's best to contact your insurance company directly for specific coverage questions. We strive to avoid any billing surprises, but we must bill your health plan according to federal guidelines and the services rendered.

For more details, please review our Financial Policy.

  • Billing

Insurance copays should be paid at the time of service. If that's not possible, please contact the billing department before your visit to arrange a payment plan.

  • Scheduled Appointments

Appointments can be scheduled by phone or online. Both sick and well visits can be scheduled online on our website. Our phones open at 7:30 AM on weekdays and 8 am on Saturdays. We offer same day appointments.

If your pediatrician does not have available appointments listed online, please call our office to schedule. Not all available appointments are released online daily.

Online booking for sick visits is best used for acute illness. If you have several concerns or are following up on a chronic illness, please call the office to schedule your appointment to ensure we set aside adequate time.

Office visits are by appointment only.

  • Timeliness & Missed Appointments

Our office makes every effort to run on time as we understand your time is valuable. Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment.

If you are later than 10-15 minutes for your appointment, we will try to work you back into the schedule, or perhaps offer an appointment to you with another provider. Out of courtesy to our other patients, we may ask you to reschedule your appointment.

Missed appointments: A fee may be charged for canceled or missed appointments if 24 hours notice is not given. Please give at least 24 hours notice when cancelling an appointment. Three or more missed appointments will result in discharge from the practice.
