Immunization Schedule

We strongly believe in the efficacy and safety of childhood vaccines. If you have any personal questions or concerns, please contact your doctor. Also please note that the timing of individual vaccination schedules may vary depending on a number of factors.

Our immunization schedule represents the recommended schedule by the ACIP (American Council on Immunization Practices) and the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics). This schedule should satisfy any daycare or school entrance requirements:

Influenza Vaccine can only be given to a child 6 months (by calendar date) of age or older. If first dose of Influenza vaccine the 2nd dose needs to be given 30 days later for a child 9 years or younger. If only received one dose the first year will only get one dose in subsequent years. After receiving one-two doses of influenza vaccine will only receive one dose in subsequent years.

Varicella (Chicken Pox) – Is usually given to a child 15 months & 5 years or older (in combination with MMR called ProQuad). Children 12 years and older need a titer first. If no immunity, these children will require two vaccines given one month apart. If the child received Varicella in the past they will need a 2nd Varicella after the age of seven. If they have had a documented disease they do not need the vaccine.

MMR vaccine is usually given at 15 months and 5 year or older (in combination with MMR called ProQuad). It may be given at age 12 to a child who has not previously received two immunizations.

Hep A vaccine is to be given 6 months apart for a total of two doses after the age of 1 year. Each child will be on a separate schedule.

Gardasil is to be given 2 months and 6 months time frame after the initial dose for a total of three doses in the series.

Rotavirus is the only vaccine that is oral (by mouth).

College required immunizations is dependent on the particular college attending, usually the same as 12 yr and a PPD.
